Hi, I use this plugin in XML + XSLT with  prototype 1.6.0.2.plus +
scriptaculous

prototype 1.6.0.2.plus == prototype 1.6.0.2 + dom.js     June 30, 2008

I almost add support for XSLT (position problem in IE7)
and rewrite function Element.build() 

I test IT on IE7, O 9.5, FF 2, but only basic pop-up option

OK, if you use only official prototype (without dom.js) calendar positioning in 
IE7 is OK
