I want to work on the infinite scroll bit.
I think the UI is already implementing something very much like what is
described by that Chromatic article. That was what my last change did.

The part we need is a button to go into photo mode, where photo mode:
1) filters to only photos (no permanodes or files, etc)
2) defaults to a much larger thumbnail size
Also: time slider so I can scroll back to 2009 or whatever quickly.

Agree. You should be able to see it with much bigger thumbnails right now
(looking similar to what is shown in the article) by just pressing the + button
a bunch of times. It already can scale them up quite large and keeps the layout
balanced.
You won't really get the full effect though unless you have a view that has
lots of images in it.

I also want a mode that hides the margins and control tab strips and search box
and other widgets.

hmm that chromatic.io url does not seem to do anything special here. maybe my
chrome is too old?
