Dashclock as a notification for Android Lollipop #817

Hi,

This weekend I upgraded my phone to Lollipop and I can tell you that I was not
happy when I found out that custom lockscreens are no longer supported.
Dashclock really was one of the best applications I had. I do especially like
to check the weather and such without having to unlock my phone and find an app.

With Lollipop you could however show notifications on the lockscreen and I have
found an app which provides weather information as a notification. The problem
is just that it only shows the weather and would need to find more for other
information. Also, the dash clock extensions are already the best since they
are so small and simple.

My idea is that Dashclock could be modified to utilize the current extensions
and show this information as a notification on my Lollipop lockscreen. I really
think this is feasible. Perhaps the top 4 extensions are shown for regular
height notifications and more are shown when expanded. This way, all the work
that have been put into development of Dashclock extensions could also come to
use in Android Lollipop.

What do you think about this idea?

Best regards,
Jimmy

Just thought of this idea recently too. It could have options like whether it
should make persistent notifications or not. All the extensions and options
could be relatively the same except it produces notifications instead of widget
entries.
