Power button does not work when attempting to power off Wii

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Load game using DML through NeoGamma
2. Press Power button
3. Nothing happens

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Expecting Wii to turn off

Power button has to be held down until the Wii hard powers off

are you sure the game didnt just freeze? i never seem to get this unless the 
game freezes

The game hadnt froze. I could still play the game without issue.

The game I was playing was Zelda Four Swords if that helps as well...compressed.

hold the power button like 10segs, if does not work maybe is you wii, this 
issue doesn't exist in my testing, never happen this to me :S

Thats exactly what I have to do. I have to hold the power button down for 10 
seconds for the Wii to shut off.

I cannot just press the power button once.

Should the reset button only reset the current game being played or should it 
reset the Wii all together?

It happened to me as well. Each time you use the reset button with DML, you 
have to press the power button 10 seconds to power off the Wii.
