Reset button doesn't work correctly #25

Open GoogleCodeExporter opened 9 years ago

Pressing the Reset button doesn't work correctly:

- If a retail game is played, pressing Reset shuts off the console.
- If a game is being played from SD, VI is shut off, and the system hangs,
completely unresponsive. (The Eject button doesn't work, either.) The only
solution is to power off (either by holding the power button for ~5 seconds or
by unplugging the system.)

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Start a GameCube game.
2. Press Reset.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
- Expected: The game should reset.
- Actual: For retail discs, the system shuts off. For SD games, the video
interface is shut off and the system hangs.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
DML r46 compiled with devkitARM r36.

Update: It seems that the response to pressing RESET varies depending on the
game running from SD. With Sonic Adventure DX and Mario Party 7, pressing RESET
hung the system. With Sonic Adventure 2 Battle, it powered off.

I've found that "Start B X" for a soft reset seems to work fine thus
far(Haven't tested it extensively, but I tried in midgame in Luigi's Mansion).
It's a nice alternative, but I agree that a physical button should work in the
future.
