Spawning Multiple Generals #29

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 9 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 9 years ago
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Playing as Communi Toscani
2. Start of turn three
3.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Unsure if this is intentional. 3 to 5 generals spawn in each provincial
settlement.

What version of the mod are you using? What version of M2TW are you using?
Current. Latest

Please provide any additional information below.

Addendum - I believe what's happening is that units that I'm trying to recruit
are converting to generals instead! Very strange.

Interesting, can you confirm that it is indeed your recruited units turning
into generals? Disable all auto-management (recruiting at least) and recruit
the units yourself and see if they turn into generals. Thanks!

I can confirm that it is indeed all recruited units that are generals.

After looking at EDU, it seems that this is purposeful, as all units have the
"General_unit" trait.

Actually I have been testing with auto-management disabled in order to verify
both unit functioning and building effects on settlements. Always the same
results with general spawn and unit size (77) but the correct unit type is
generated. I verified this after one battle (but with the reduced unit sizes.)
I have checked this out yet on the new update.

As Tyboman says that the EDU shows the general_unit trait has been applied for
all units this is most likely what's causing this issue. I hope we have helped
out in this!

You did, thanks! Pretty much all the units are flagged as generals so that we
can test various units for bodyguards. The testing will show if it is feasible
in the long run but most likely some of the inferior units won't be generals in
the end (Peasants...). However the all units generals was the original plan
because it worked this way in original MTW and we wished to recreate that so
that each unit is actually a retinue of a vassal.
