Applet won't run at all on Firefox 3.05 on Ubuntu Linux 8.10 #88

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Loading the current version and all previous versions of the droiddraw
applet in my browser

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
   "Start: applet not initialized"

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
   Firefox 3.05 on Ubuntu Linux 8.10. JRE 6 (JRE 6-10-ubuntu2). 

Please provide any additional information below.
   Browser seems to work fine with other applets. I've also confirmed the
page works fine on WinXP Opera 9.6 + Firefox 3. I'm guessing it must be
some sort of odd idiosyncrasy between Win Firefox and Linux Firefox?

Whoops! Thought I was running the official JRE/JDK. Not quite. That would 
probably
explain things:

java version "1.6.0_0"
IcedTea6 1.3.1 (6b12-0ubuntu6) Runtime Environment (build 1.6.0_0-b12)
OpenJDK 64-Bit Server VM (build 1.6.0_0-b12, mixed mode)
