Weird persistence of Knowledge tab #101

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Go to knowledge screen.
2. Press down arrow (changes from "Tech" to "Items")
3. Press right arrow, then down arrow (changes from "Diesel Generator" to
"Gaming PC")
4. Close knowledge screen.
5. Reopen knowledge screen. ("Items->Gaming PC" is still selected)
6. Press down arrow (changes from "Gaming PC" to "High Speed Internet")

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
There are two possibilities I might have expected.
(a) After step 5, the knowledge screen has "Techs->Intrusion".
    Doing step 6 would produce "Items->Diesel Generator"
(b) After step 6, the knowledge screen has "Concepts->Areas".

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
Off the head (r953), Ubuntu Karmic beta

Please provide any additional information below.
