THR pot scrolls menus; bricked Atmega chip? #361

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Enter the diagnostics menu.
2. Rotate the thr hold pot.
3. Throw the THR CUT switch.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Throwing the THR CUT switch should register in the diagnostics window. It does
not. Turning the thr hold pot should do nothing on the switch diagnostics page.
Instead, it causes the menus to cycle.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
I am using the FrSky version of er9x compiled 11.2.2012

Please provide any additional information below.
I carried out the FrSky telemetry hardware modification to a TH9x (redirecting
"THR CUT" and "AIL D/R" to PC6 and PC7 of the Atmega chip. The "AIL D/R" switch
works fine, but throwing the "THR CUT" switch is not registered by the TH9X.
The thr hold pot causes menus to scroll, as described in Issue 324. A final
piece of information is that the PC5 and PC6 pins are shorted, although no
solder bridge/contact exists between them. I would guess that I bricked the
chip while soldering the fine wires to the traces. Any info on this?

The pot scrolling the menus is normal. It's actually a feature. You can
navigate through menus and change values only with the pots. But if you don't
like it there is an option on the main settings to deactivate it..

About the switch not working, please check your connections on that circuit
with a digital multimeter. It looks like that the circuit might be openned
somewhere.
