Mixing Multiimage and Fanart on Basic Home displays fanart briefly before Multiimage #2

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 9 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 9 years ago
What steps will reproduce the problem?
Define a Multiimage control for use on BasicHome Main Menu or some items,

Define random fanart for other menu items or sub menus.

When you open Basic Home, the random fanart displays briefly before the
multiimage control.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Expect to see the multiimage control display, not the random fanart
briefly fading into the multiimage control

What version of the plugin are you using?
RC1

Please provide any additional information below.
I suspect this results from the order in which MP is processing the
controls since the last fanart control in BasicHome.xml is the one that
displays briefly before the multiimage.

So I am not sure you can do anything about this, but just wanted to bring
it to your attention. Also, so the issue is documented somewhere.

For now, I am advising aMPed users that if they wish to use random fanart
on BasicHome, then they should select random fanart for the main menu as
this 'evades' the problem. However, since aMPed uses diff multiimages for
diff themes for the Main Menu of Basic Home, I am sure some users will
wish to use multiimages for the main menu, or some menu items, and fanart
for others :)

Hi,

Thank you for your report. I know about this issue but has been unable to fix
it. It
all depends on how MP loads controls and handles the visibility/animation tags.
I will
keep this issue open but put it into a lower status.

best regards

Hi,

I'm not able to resolve this as it depends on how MP loads controls.

best regards
