Don't you think Adobe won't be very happy with this project ?

Sorry, man, but since they give a dam about linux users I don't give a dam to 
what
they are thinking. I sure know that most of the linux community that use Flex 
Builder
think the same.

By the way.... We would be very happy to pay for something that works.... Not 
for a
alpha version (an unofficial version)....

We should be greatful that eshangrao spent his time making this work for Linux 
and
decided to share this with us....

I wouldn't be happy to pay for a Flex Builder version that does not have any 
support,
does not have a Debugger, and does not have the view Editor.... Adobe must pay
attention to its clients.... We all want to be Adobe clients, but not with this 
kind
of treatment...

Whether people give a damn is fairly irrelevant.  The real issue is that 
this "project" uses 99.9% Adobe's code.  I am fairly certain this project will 
get 
shut down.  Sad for us, but you can't just take a proprietary product, tweak 
it, and 
release it yourself.  At least not legally.

If legality isn't your concern, I'd start preparing a torrent now.  But, for 
legal/moral reasons, it's probably better to work with Adobe, and hope they 
would 
incorporate your changes since it requires so little of their time.

This project is only a supplement to the Adobe official product,it'll shuted 
down
after the official flash builder for  linux released!I do not want to mess with 
adobe
rights , but only can not stand adobe ignore the linux users,so do some port for
linux user.

Hell yeah, keep up the good work eshangrao until Adobe decides to consider 
Linux users!

The current Adobe's position in ignoring linux CUSTOMERS is just stupid, plus, I
can't believe how they can sale a product as buggy as Flash Builder 4 (Windows
release) using a so wonderful framework that Eclipse provides (and for free)!

I work for a company that produces project management software based on Flex. 
My company has purchased a Flash Builder 4 license for me to use, only to 
discover that there is no Adobe supported version of FB4 for Linux. In my case, 
Adobe did not lose a paying customer, but the idea that they won't support 
Linux based development is ridiculous. 

eshangrao is a life saver for those of us stuck on the FB3 alpha for Linux. If 
Adobe comes after this project, I should hope they care about the number of 
people they're shafting if they shut it down without picking up Linux support 
themselves.

It's certainly NOT 99.9% Adobe's code - LOL
The IDE itself is based on Eclipse, and the Flex framework iirc started as an 
open source project outside of Adobe/Macromedia but I may be mistaken about the 
latter
