kde 4.4.1 corrupted thumbs using theora codec encoded with both libtheora 1.0 and 11 #58

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 9 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 9 years ago
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. activate thumbnails in a folder where is an .ogv video file
2.
3.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
the image is corrupted aka a bunch a random created pixels instead of an
actual image of the video

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
latest included in kubuntu 10.04

Please provide any additional information below.
the videos are perfect cuz any player around for linux play it perfectly
fine so maybe is an internal with ffmpeg not sure if making an specific
implementation with libtheora instead could solve it

nice work btw :) kudos

Can you provide me with a (link to a) sample that fails so I can check it?

about an specific video just convert any video to theora, using this command
ffmpeg2theora -v 10 --optimize <filename> with any version of ffmpeg2theora

btw if you try different encode options is the same, my bet is that ffmpeg
support for
theora is wrong and well since libtheora is around, there isnt much need to add
it to
ffmpeg i think
