My question?:
1.Why is the javascript text repeated at the bottom of the page?
Is it needed? 

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
jquery-1.7.1.min.js

Please provide any additional information below.

I am a complete beginner with javascript so this may be an inapropriate 
question.
