local map not detected #89

Good morning, Reading your readme.htm, I tried to use offline my own map. 
following those instructions 10.1 & 10.2, i put thoses files

into the 'Program Files\GpsCycleComputer\maps' directory but this map is not 
detected inside my pocket PC GPSCycleComputer ('no map' appears on the upper 
right corner on the PDA screen).
Could you help me to find why my map is not detected ?

Hello Didier,
did you set the map files directory?
Go to "Options" - the first tab "Options:" - klick on "Set maps files 
location..." and select the directory with your map files.
Please reply when this doesn't solve the issue.

yes I have set the maps directory via 'Options' but 'no map' is detected. My 
jpeg file is 3M5 (2560*2304 pixels). Is this a to big file ? Is there a log 
file to check where the problem could come from ? Thanks.

Hello Didier,
I have checked your files:
1. the kml file has a wrong format (I get an error when trying to set the map 
files directory). You must create a placemark as described in 10.2
2. the jpg file is too big (at least for my emulator). I get an error "Out of 
Memory Error (Filesize too large)"

You should divide your jpeg into several smaller files and create for each of 
them a txt or kml calibration file.
My recommendation: consider the use of OpenStreetMap style maps, described in 
10.4.

I think you know: You only need one of the files, either .txt or .kml.

Errors are logged in a file GpsCycleComputer.log in the application directory.

The error "no map" usually means that there is no map found for the current 
lat/long values.

After reinstallation, I use OpenStreetMap.
