Previous versions cannot be downloaded from pypi.python.org #519

Only the current version can be downloaded with easy_install / zc.buildout,
because the pypi page links only to
http://code.google.com/p/gdata-python-client/ not to
http://code.google.com/p/gdata-python-client/downloads/list

you can specify the URI to install from with easy_install explicitly. The PyPi
automatically hides old versions, so we could unhide them, but I would fear
confusing people.

eg:

easy_install http://gdata-python-client.googlecode.com/files/gdata-2.0.2.zip

I think you misunderstood me. We're using zc.buildout with version pinning that
expects previous versions the available forever from pypi. Handing manually a
URL to easy_install is a no-go there.

Hi, thanks for the quick response. I don't think I misunderstood you, but my
use of buildout has been limited, so I could be wrong, but look at this example:

http://www.buildout.org/docs/tutorial.html#custom-egg-building

I'm sure there are other ways in buildout to achieve it to. There is not much
difference between pinning a revision and pinning a source URL.

I'm closing this since there has been no feedback, I assume the solution
provided is usable.
