Show all caches doesn't start with closest caches #51

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 9 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 9 years ago
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Go to cache list and select show all caches.
2.
3.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
I expected to see all the caches, including the ones I saw when it said
show nearest caches. What it does is start showing perhaps outside those,
so the nearest caches are only one the one page, then the all caches starts
after those. I would expect it to show all caches (seems to be a limit of
1000 as it says showing 1000 of 1647, although that is fine as you move
closer to the others I am sure they would come up)
Could this range of what is close to be a user defined range by the way?

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
0.7.5 on a G1 1.5 (cupcake)

Please provide any additional information below.
Fairly minor, but I don't see a way of changing the priority.
I may submit screenshots later if that will help.

At this point "show all" it basically shows a random list of 1000 caches. It's
capped at
1000 caches for performance reason--there's no way to search/sort the list of
caches.
GeoBeagle needs to eventually sort (by name or id) and provide filtering.

I don't see the ability to browse all caches as very important. The map view
helps to
some extent.
Searching (issue #54) would further save you from the need to go through a list
of 1000
caches.

Ah, so it is a random list, not the 1000 closest. I agree that only 1000 needs
to be
shown on the list, I just thought it was the 1000 closest and was perplexed by
some
of the ones that were close on the first list missing from the all list.
To be fair, I haven't checked this since 0.7.5...

I would like to replace the 'show all caches' option with automatically loading
more
caches when scrolling to the end of the loaded list. The Gmail app uses this
solution.

Show all menu has been removed; it should always show closest caches, use
search to find other caches.
