Lithuanian symbols: Error in inserting terms into gw_wordlist table, and therefore in search

= What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. When inserting terms or definitions containing lithuanian symbols "š"
and "ž" glossword sees them as blank space.

= What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
For example word "šviežias" should be inserted as "sviezias" into
gw_wordlist table, instead two words are inserted 1) vie 2) ias

= What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
1.8.11 on WAMP (localhost testing)

= Please provide any additional information below.
If I search for "vie" or "ias" results return my word.
If I search for "sviezias" return no results.
Other lithuanian symbols ą, č, ę, ė, į, ų, ū work correctly and converted
into a, c, e, e, i, u, u.
