error: when hiding "description"-field translations are also hidden

Well, yes. Translation, Source, See also and all other fields are inside 
Definition.
So by disabling Definition, you will disable all fields. This is used when you 
need
terms-only dictionaries (wordlists).

I did not realise this.
Maybee this should be explained via "inf"-arrow on the edit-page?
Or somehow else be explained eg. in the wiki.
