as a note: the label "next step" is not really a good answer to the question
"are you
sure"
could be "jes, continue to next step" or something like that.

It could happen in case of the server restrictions.
Try to remove "wordlist" and "wordmap" from the list of database tables.
File `/gw_addon/settings/settings_maintenance_8.inc.php`, line 78.

Modified version attached.

Changed to "Continue to the next step" (phrase from installation)

There were no major changes in this file since 1.8.6 except for additional
table names.
Try to clean the history of changes and clean cached search results.

File `settings_maintenance_8.inc.zip` attached above is for 1.8.8.

well the succes ended when pressing "next" following the first phase.

the error:

Fatal error: Out of memory (allocated 73662464) (tried to allocate 2883677
bytes) in
/home/.savanna/priskorn/priskorn.opia.dk/pelikano/gw_addon/settings/settings_mai
ntenance_8.inc.php
on line 59

my guess is that this refers to dumping the largest of my dictionaries (see
overview.png)

Try attached file. Backups one dictionary per step.

It works for me but with one dictionary per step. You can't backup many dicts
at one.
