Fatal error: Call to a member function on a non-object in "includes/modules/shipping/fixed.php" on line 649 #58

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. I installed google checkout and everything seems to work ok.
2. I then installed the payment module in admin. 
3. Now when I try to click the edit button to enter my merchant info I get.
Fatal error: Call to a member function on a non-object in
"includes/modules/shipping/fixed.php" on line 649
4. If I manually edit most of the options with total configuration mod. 
The google checkout button appears on my page but when it is clicked I get
cannot process checkout error from google.com.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
using latest non beta release of oscommerce.
