Labels / Subfolders #10

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Create subfolders in your mail boxes
2. Tell the uploader to use mailboxes to create labels
3.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
I would hope it would create labels in the form of
"Mailbox1/SubFolder1/Subfolder2". Instead it creates individual labels:
"Mailbox1", "Subfolder1","Subfolder2" and then applies them to the message.
In understand the thinking behind this but it would be handy to have a tick
box that lets you upload it the first way I mentioned.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
V1.0, OS X 10.6.2
Uploading from Apple Mail

It would also be nice to be able to add the [Gmail] prefix to these
"subdirectories."

Unfortunately, the possible ways of transforming folder hierarchies to labels is
pretty broad, the complexity of turning the actual mail directory names into
appropriate labels is a fair bit of work, and the number of users who would take
advantage of a flexible scheme for creating labels is pretty small.

So I think improving this aspect is going to be out of scope of the project. If
more
users ask for such flexibility, though, we'll reconsider the request. The ideas
and
enthusiasm are appreciated.

Fair enough. Just thought it might be possible to add a tick box to turn the
paths
into parentfolder/subfolder1/subfolder2 like google does if you create them in
an
IMAP client.

Good stuff on the app so far though! :)
