Version Control Issues with .classpath #98

My research team is currently dealing with the GAE/GWT problems described in 
the above StackOverflow post. Some developer's .classpath show a suffix of 
"(1)", "(2)", or "/v2".  At the moment, we are using the sub-optimal solution 
described in the post, but even that has proven to not be enough.

It would be nice if GPE could invisibly handle this somehow without us having 
to manually install updates, and without "git-ignore"-ing the .classpath file.
