Gmail Blackberry App Crashes during search

I believe this is caused when there is too much email on the Inbox and labels 
that are configured to cache.  It may be exasperated by the fact that I have 
two accounts setup.  Between my two Inbox's and cached labels it is likely 3k 
email.

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Launch gmail blackberry app
2. Press the menu button
3. Select "Search  Mail"
4. Application freeze and eventually says 

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?

"Uncaught exception: Field is not a child of this manager"

I expect a search dialog to load that I can search my email

There isn't a google group at all!, as far as I can see.

What is your support ticket from Google support?

This is the only place I have found that I can submit an issue on this 
technology for this product.

I have the same problem on bb curve 9399 with os 6 and the same version of gmail

They will never fix this.

I have had the same problem for 2 years!  

Mobile users who want to search thru gmail inbox can go pound sand.

BbErry app crashes and iPad html just doesn't have the feature at all.
