Can't select 'Other' Folders falls back to home directory

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1.Selecting a folder with Pictures folder in home directory
2.close preference window and it changes to just the home directory
3.have to edit the folder in gconf instead.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
I expected when i select other folders in preferences to be able to select 
folders other than pictures folder, but when I do it falls back to /home/<user>

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
Version: gphotoframe-1.5.1
OS: Gentoo
