HUD hard to read on low-contrast backgrounds #5

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Load a light background.
2. Read HUD if you can.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
HUD needs to be easy to read on most backgrounds. It currently is not.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
Latest Gummworld2. Windows 7.

Tried this. The results were fugly. Gave on it up shortly.
