local trending produces 404 #455

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1.select trending > local for Ann Arbor Michigan USA

result: notification that API call produced 404 error message

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?

trends for Detroit, Michigan USA (nearest big city)

I would also prefer to have option to select another locality (eg Washington DC 
where I often travel)

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system and
what Desktop Environment?

0.9.7.45 Ubuntu 11.10
