Device reboots if tethered over bluetooth or Wifi when connection is lost

What steps will reproduce the problem?

1. Tether to device from laptop (in this case MacBook running OSX Lion) over BT 
or Wifi
2. Cause the device to lose data signal - typically for me this is while 
travelling by train

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?

Device will reboot and on restarting bluetooth will no longer function (if BT 
tethered) until a user initiated reboot is performed.
