virtuemart registration captcha not filtering spam #39

What page URL will reproduce the problem?
http://www.pcadviser.ro/creare-cont

on page=shop.registration, captcha does not filter spam, this means you can
register ignoring the captcha field.

Configuration
Captcha enabled pages: user.remind, user.reset, user.register,
user.contact, user.poll, user.search, shop.registration.

VM 1.1.3
Joomla 1.5.10
Joomla captcha 4.5.1

Please help me filter the spam

"shop.registration" in not correct parameter.
You should use this "user.register". That's enough.
You installed the PATCH for VirtueMart 1.1.3 for JoomlaCaptcha4 2009-05-09

I see that you have a non-standard form. How, for example,
http://yoursite.yourdomain/index.php?option=com_virtuemart&page=shop.registratio
n&Itemid=1&lang=uk&vmcchk=1&Itemid=1
Therefore, patches must be done manually.   
See the original as a model.

I have a fresh install VM 1.1.3 and Joomla 1.5.10, and still can register 
without
filling captcha
http://localhost/site/index.php?option=com_virtuemart&page=shop.registration

please try on this link, maybe there is a clich..

Please post a demo install with VirtueMart registration using captcha. I still 
have
the issue and spam is doing a great job annoing me.

We also have VM 1.1.3 on Joomla 1.5.10 and we have the very same problem :
registration is possible whatever the user types as a captcha.
Do you have any workaround and/or patch ?

What if I create a VM field in HTML format, required, so the spam cannot pass 
through
registration...

Hi - did you get this fixed? I have the same issue Joomla 1.5.11 / Virtuemart

Thank you, this patch is valid. Registration is now ok, catpcha is required and 
code
works, no error.

ok now, latest fix provides security and prevents spam, patch is now valid for
registration.

i don't know how to add the captcha, in virtuemart registration form, i've 
installed
the plugin. I'm using joomla 1.5.12 and virtuemart 1.1.4, and i've also 
installed the
patch for joomla 1.5.12

you need to install the patch for virtuemart, then publish the plugin and set 
the parameter enable: user.register
