New KV Setup cant install theme

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1.Created new KV Web install
2.Asks me to install a theme ( cant access theme editor otherwise )
3.It says it installed the theme but it wont show

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
No theme installed

On what operating system are you running the system?
Win 7 64 bit - IE & Firefox (good computer and internet 20mb fibre

Please provide any additional information below.

the CMS is not designed to be run on a Windows server. it is currently fully 
tested only on Linux. you need a Linux server.

The Linux server also needs to have "unzip" installed. Otherwise the CMS has no 
way of extracting the downloaded theme.

Yea the server is Linux, but i asked and they dont have "unzip" feature.
Im with One.com id say i will have to switch to a new provider. Is there a temp 
fix i can do by downloading a bare bones theme just to get access into the 
theme editor where i can edit the code by hand and upload the files to the File 
Manager ?

one workaround would be to install the CMS first on your local machine, using a 
Linux virtual server, and then upload the files and database to your one.com 
one.

/or/ use 20eu.com, where it's already set up and ready to go ;-)

your issue, though, has posed an interesting problem which I will solve. I'm 
opening a separate issue related to it which will cover the solution. No 
guarantee on when it will be done, though!

the Cheapest option for me right now would be to stick with one.com as its only 
£20 per year thats for hosting and Domain name.

So once i create the site on my local computer in say - VirtualBox. i assume i 
do a website backup which downloads the files onto desktop. then use them to 
upload them onto One.com using FTP and place them into the correct folders.

Shouldnt i only have to do this the once ? then once its uploaded i can edit it 
using the online platform as the theme should then be installed and in place. 
so tasks like adding photos, changing text content should all be the same.

The only thing thats being UnZiped is the installing of a theme. il be sticking 
to the same theme and only editing the CSS and HTML and continue using KVWeb 
platform as normal ??

no... see when you do the backup, that will also involve using unzip when you 
upload to one.com.

first, install Linux in VirtualBox. I recommend Fedora. Here is instruction on 
how to then install kvWebMe:

second, when your website has been installed, use an FTP client from /inside/ 
the virtual server, to upload the entire website file by file to the one.com 
server.

third, use mysqldump to get the database from the virtual server, then import 
the sql file into your online database
