Auto Save Lag

I keep getting lags while typing in any document. I have noticed that in
the top right corner the 'Save Now' button changes to 'Saving...' when it
happens so I am guessing its to do with auto saving.

It seems to do this way too often ie. after every 1-5 characters have been
typed. Whilst it is saving the keyboard input seems to lag. This gets very
annoying very quickly.

What steps will reproduce the problem?

1. Typing anything in a document

What version of the product are you using? On what browser?

Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.9.1.6) Gecko/20100130
Gentoo Firefox/3.5.6

I have also seen this happen on a Windows 7 machine running Firefox 3.something

A number of factors may be contributing to this behavior, i haven't been able to
reproduce it. We're adding some options for disabling or customizing the 
auto-save
feature.

This is currently deployed on the development environment, at
http://dev.latexlab.org,if you want to give it a try.

You can now turn off or customize the auto-save mechanism.
