Problems with Plos template #40

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. upload  the following file:

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?

There is a limitation in the Google Docs API which prevents any uploaded files, 
that
are not converted to documents, from being editable. TeX files won't be 
converted to
Google Documents and will exist as generic files which can't be edited. You can 
get
around this by creating a new document, from Google Docs or LaTeX Lab, and 
pasting
the LaTeX code in.

I'm hoping that this limitation will be eliminated in the future.
