New color chooser shows Gradient box for ngons and ellipse but it doesnt work

aka Gradients don't work for Ngons and Ellipses.

What steps will reproduce the problem?

1. Start Leonardo 
2. Create a ngon or a ellipse
3. Select Color chooser from pop-up
4. Select Gradient box which is displayed at the bottom.
5. Observe that there is no gradient applied to the Node, and the pop up fill 
color turns white (which does not match the color of the node). The node itself 
turns dk brown, or the last color which was displayed before the user moused 
down to the gradient box.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
I expect to see the gradient. Instead the feature appears broken.
If there is no support for gradients for ngons and ellipses, the color chooser 
should not show the gradient box.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
build 162 , win xp.

Also, as an aside, why no gradients for ngons and ellipses?

This should be fixed in recent builds. All shapes should be fillable with 
gradients and textures now.
