Prismatik crashes Digital Signage software 'Scala' #106

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Prismatik crashes my Digital Signage software 'Scala'
2. Scala runs for 30seconds and then crashes. Scala error logs say 
prismatik-hooks.dll error
3. I have purchased 4 Lightpacks for testing on our Digital Signage. I am 
running Prismatik in emulation mode before sticking the LEDs to the screen.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
I have tried running Prismatik 5.9.6 and 5.10.6.
Scala version 10.2 and tried 10.1.6
OS - Windows 7 Embedded

I have some more information.
It is the ActiveX d3d9.dll v6.1.7601.17514 that Prismatik is causing to die
