GoogleCodeExporter commented 9 years ago
To Make grabbing work on raspbmc distribution, we need to implement OpenGL

Thanks! I have tried to install it but when I did, the message appeared saying
that the structure of this addon is not compliant with the raspbmc....the only
thing I did is I clicked on the link to get the zip file of the above mentioned
link. From the downloadfolder I dragged it on a USB stick and put it straight
into the PI to install (so I did not open the Zip file before). Any idea??

Which addon are you talking about? I used official Boblight addon from addon
repository with only one modification, i had to change priority of modified
omxplayer to higher value, for example 1 .)
It will work only if you have Raspbmc up to date and Boblight with Lightpack
support, which you can get from
https://github.com/Speedy1985/boblightd-for-raspberry or
https://github.com/timsat/boblight-lightpack/tree/lightpack, compile and
install it as described here: http://pibob.nadnerb.co.uk/software.html. Sorry,
we haven't released anything yet, so you need to build and install everything
manually.

Okay, I understood that Id need the boblight-lightpack version from
https://github.com/timsat/**boblight-lightpack/tree/**lightpack<https://github.c
om/timsat/boblight-lightpack/tree/lightpack>
but
I dont understand the guide. Nadnerbs tutorial is for the WS2801 which
get connected directly to the pins on the PI. My lightpack would be
connected via USB....I am sorry to bother you..I am just too green on that
field and I thought Id be able to get it done on my own....but I am
willing to learn.....in your last email you said "Sorry, we haven't
released anything *yet*, so you need to build and install everything
manually"
= does that mean in the future there might be an completed addon for the
lightpack? Regards

Hopefully everything will work by default in Raspbmc as soon as Bob van Loosen
approve our commit, otherwise be sure we will prepare package for Rasbmc, which
will be easy to install. Btw WS2801 is just yet another device supported by
Boblight, so you will need just to change boblight's config.
