the only reason I can think for trackball support is porting ... so mind if I 
ask what are you wanting to port to?

The reason I wanted support for it is because the app doesn't work without 
patch on the rom framework and I spoke to the app maker and he pointed me to 
the source

I have tried other apps like light flow but I find it inconsistent and 
sometimes it doesn't work correctly.

Is this something really needed? I think the integrated LED settings (like in 
CM) handles pretty much same thing that trackball alert?
