Problem linking liboldtwitter.so and twitgin.so #113

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. download pidgin-2.5.5 & build it
2. point pkg-config at pidgin & libpurple directories
3. download mbpurple source and type make

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Successful build. libpurple/libpurple.la: file not recognized: File format 
not recognized

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
0.2.1 on ubuntu 9.04

Never mind: It works if I apt-get install pidgin-dev. Wouldn't think that was 
necessary, but why fight what works?
