Opening up hidden navigation keeps chat-contact names hidden

Which Minimalist Gmail option is causing the problem?

What is the problem? Describe completely:

I have enabled Hide Navigation. When I choose to display navigation again 
(using keyboard shortcut or clicking the stripe) after the chat-contacts have 
loaded, their names will remain hidden.

Does the issue persist when loading Gmail with this link:
https://mail.google.com/mail/u/0/?labs=0 if not, list your enabled labs
experiments:

Problem persists without using any labs.

Chrome version         - Chromium 9.0.597.98 (0)
Chrome update channel  - Gentoo Portage
Operating System       - Gentoo Linux
Language               - English
Google apps user?      - No
Other Gmail extensions - Nope

Please disable Minimalist for Gmail if you have it installed and install
Minimalist for Everything instead.
