Auto-filled name in To: field is not clickable #240

Which Minimalist for Gmail option is causing the problem?
Unknown.

What is the problem? Describe completely:
Since installing the Gmail extension, I often (though not always) am unable to
click on a contact's auto-filled name in the To: field of a new email message
-- that is, I'll start typing the name, and the full name and address will pop
up, but I'll be unable to click on the address and insert it; instead, the
address drop-down disappears and I'm left with only the letters I've already
typed in. (I have the entire Google bar hidden, with the "hide logo" feature
disabled.)

Does the problem persist when loading Gmail with this link:
https://mail.google.com/mail/u/0/?labs=0 if not, list your enabled labs
experiments:
The problem does persist.

I'm experiencing this issue as well.

Chrome 14.0.835.163
Minimalist v1.7.42 - Hide Logo enabled

Oddly enough, it seems as if the text of the selected email address does not
display, but it is still retained in the text box - it is not shown, but if you
send right after clicking the name, the email will be successfully sent to the
recipient that you clicked on.

I have noticed this as well. The address is still in the TO: box, but it is
not visible - unless you turn off minimalist

Yeah, I get more than this..

I have noticed this issue pop up a few times, but it has been more consistent
recently.

Sometimes, when I go to compose a message (same result if I use the "c"
shortcut or click on the "Compose" button), I get incomplete functionality.

The first hint I get is that the compose view doesn't look right. The compose
text area is too short and doesn't take up the whole space it should:
http://i.imgur.com/ZYZnB.jpg.

The second issue is that when I start typing out a contact name, the
auto-complete list appears but nothing happens when I press enter or click on
the contact name.

The third issue is that when I press "Add BCC" or "Add CC", those links just
disappear and nothing happens. To be clear: the links disappear when I click on
them!

Operating system (e.g. WinXP): Windows 7
Program and version you use to access Gmail (e.g. Internet Explorer 7 or
Outlook 2003): Chrome 14.0.835.187 m
Your antivirus software (e.g. Norton 2007): Avast
Any extensions, toolbars or plug-ins: Minimalist Gmail

I reported it here first, where upon a suggestion I tried disabling Minimalist
Gmail and found that the issue went away:

If it helps, I am using MG for only one thing - to change the gmail logo. If I
un-select this, the problem goes away.. along with my beautiful picture. :(

I'm seeing the same behavior as Rob described when using MG on google apps
accounts. I noticed it about a week ago and the problem seems to be
intermittent, although I of course don't notice it when it's not a problem...

It is definitely the "Hide logo" option that causes this issue. If I uncheck
that, CC/BCC and typing addresses into any field work properly again. I never
would have thought that the logo was related to this problem if I hadn't seen
this bug report.

I'm currently running Chrome 15 (beta) on 64-bit Debian testing, but I had the
same problem with Chrome 14 (stable).

I have been experiencing this issue as described, but have never had the "hide
logo" option checked. I tried checking it, refreshing, then trying to compose
a message, and the problem persisted. When I unchecked "hide logo" and
refreshed, there was still no change.

I am using MG for several tweaks, so when I get a chance I will see if I can
track down if there is another single item that I can enable/disable to resolve
this problem.

"Hide Logo" is not causing the issue for me. (I posted Issue #369, merged into
this issue in Comment #5 above.) I have never checked the hide logo option, but
continue to have this problem (intermittently) with autocomplete and the CC/BCC
links.

I unchecked "Hide Logo" and the issue disappeared for me. Sorry to hear that
it evidently isn't working for everyone. This is a painless fix for me since I
hide the Google header, anyway, except when searching email.

I am experiencing this issue as well. It even includes the name showing up on
a drop down and then selecting the name and hitting tab - nothing happens. If
I disable minimalist all is well, but then I have all the crap I don't want to
see back.

Having this issue as well, exactly as those above described. I've noticed if I
compose or reply to an email in a new window, this problem does not happen.
But I don't always remember to hold down Shift when I do it, so frustration
ensues.
