Feature Request: Floating navigation which excludes gadgets #330

Which Minimalist for Gmail option is causing the problem?
Floating Navigation

What is the problem? Describe completely:
I have about 40 chat contacts, and with floating navigation I can't scroll to
the bottom of my chat list.

Does the problem persist when loading Gmail with this link:
https://mail.google.com/mail/u/0/?labs=0 if not, list your enabled labs
experiments:
Yes it persists (By the way I don't have right-side chat on).

MinGmail version - 1.7.40
Chrome version - 14.0.814.0
Chrome update channel - Dev
Operating System - Mac OS X 10
Language - English
Google apps user? - No
Other Gmail extensions - None

Please provide any additional information below and attach screenshots if
possible.
I would advise that you make everything on the navigation float except the
items after your status (so your chat contacts scroll and you can get to the
bottom)

As a side note it also cuts off just a little of the sidebar with either the
themes "Preview" or "Preview (Dense)"

The scrolling bug is a limitation on how it's implemented, you just can't make
it fixed and independently scrollable. I would advise hiding offline contacts
to make it fit.

I've changed it to a feature request for floating nav which excludes gadgets
because I really like that idea. Will probably implement it for the Gmail
Module in Minimalist for Everything

Nice, thanks.

One more problem, though. I also have about 60 labels, and in the same way I
can't get to the bottom of my labels list.

I don't know if this would be too difficult but if all the navigation was fixed
except for anything under say the "Trash" link? ...that would fix both of these
problems.

Otherwise I can just keep toggling MinGmail on/off to edit my label colors, etc.

Can I get an answer on this? I have to disable MinGmail to see all my labels....

I won't be implementing this in MinGmail. It will be in the Gmail module for
MinEverything.

In the mean time, if you are on version 1.7.42 on MinGmail, the floating
navigation is scrollable if your cursor is over it (scrollbar is hidden, like
the sidebar on the options page. If you have that many labels you should really
be nesting them to make them manageable...)

Thanks...I do like the nested labels but I don't like how it shows
(label)\(nested label) on my message list.

I'll be fixing that in MinEverything as well.

THIS EXTENSION IS DEPRECATED!

Active development continues at Minimalist for Everything:

https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/bmihblnpomgpjkfddepdpdafhhepdbek

The Gmail module for Minimalist for Everything has all the same features of
Minimalist for Gmail and more!

Please disable Minimalist for Gmail if you have it installed and install
Minimalist for Everything instead.
