Floating Navigation and Fixed Width Navigation incompatible with each other

Which Minimalist for Gmail option is causing the problem?
Floating Navigation 
Fixed Width Navigation

What is the problem? Describe completely:
I have both of these enabled, but when I scroll, the navigation goes to about 
the middle of the screen and everything else (literally) goes under it.

Does the problem persist when loading Gmail with this link:
https://mail.google.com/mail/u/0/?labs=0 if not, list your enabled labs
experiments:
Still there.

MinGmail version       - 1.7.40
Chrome version         - 14.0.814.0
Chrome update channel  - Dev
Operating System       - Mac OS X 10
Language               - English
Google apps user?      - No
Other Gmail extensions - None

Please provide any additional information below and attach screenshots if
possible.
Sorry man, I just keep finding problems with the floating navigation....

At first I thought the fixed width navigation could serve as a workaround for 
the last issue I submitted (332) but....I guess not.

This is because of the preview theme, it throws off my math. Merging into Issue 
327 because they have the same root cause. Adapting the custom CSS in the 
comments of that issue will fix custom navigation width.
