THIS EXTENSION IS DEPRECATED!
Active development continues at Minimalist for Everything:
https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/bmihblnpomgpjkfddepdpdafhhepdbek
The Gmail module for Minimalist for Everything has all the same features of
Minimalist for Gmail and more!
Please disable Minimalist for Gmail if you have it installed and install
Minimalist for Everything instead.

You have to enable the modules. (There is a small but right now with module not
enabling permanently)
1) Refresh the options page, disabled modules are faded out except for the
"Enable" button. Enable it, refresh again to make sure it worked
OR
2) Go to the Gmail tab, if the Minimalist icon is not black, then the module is
disabled. Click the icon and click the checkmark button to enable.

This is the icon I'm talking about. The one on the left is enabled, the one on
the right is disabled.
Maintaining 4 separate extension took a long time. I'm a full time student with
a job and I didn't have time to keep doing it. If you want to keep using
MinGmail you're welcome to but it will not be getting any updates and I will
not provide support for it.
Please export your MinEverything data so I can see what's going on:
Data > Export > Specific modules > Minimalist for Gmail > Export selected.

*the only thing that actually works is hiding the top google links for the
other services. now i'm able to drop down my email and settings links like
before but it won't bring the drop down for those options when i click on
them so i can be able to logout or change anything in my mail settings.

Telling me what is working is not helpful unless literally every other feature
is broken. Are you using every other option? Specifically which options are not
working for you?
Also some basic troubleshooting:
* Make sure you are doing this is Chrome, not ChromePlus, I only officially support Chrome dev, Chrome beta, and Chrome stable.
* Make sure you are using the new Gmail UI. I don't support the classic look
