Extra space appeared when google's new look calendar was introduced

Which Minimalist for Google Calendar option is causing the problem?

Turning on Minimalist causes the problem - I've tried unchecking all the 
options and the problem still exists - turning off Minimalist removes the extra 
space.

What is the problem? Describe completely:

I'm guessing this happened when google introduced their new look for the 
calendar - when I select the old look (I still prefer this) Minimalist creates 
a large space between the calendars list and the actual calendar - a whole 
column.

The space goes away when:
1) I toggle minimalist to off
2) I switch over to google's new look

MinGcal version        - 0.7.3
Chrome version         -12.0.742.122
Chrome update channel  -
Operating System       - mac os snow leopard
Language               - english
Google apps user?      - yes
Other GCal extensions  - no

Please provide any additional information below and attach screenshots if
possible.

The classic look is end-of-life and you will be forced to use the new look in 
the coming months. Therefore the classic look is no longer supported when it's 
not trivial to do so. Sorry.
