Mobbler support to Asian characters #644

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 9 years ago

Well, this is not really an issue, but i've got nowhere else to report it.
I listen to Asian music, which means i listen to songs whoch are not
written in the roman alphabet.
what happens is that, when i listen to any song which's got a foreign
character (which appear as squares in my nokia, of course) in the
album/artist/song name, the song simply wont scrobble. its as if im not
even listening to it, for mobbler doesnt show the song im listening to.

with songs which have 'normal' characters, i dont see the issue at all.
its working perfectly.

i mean, its not an issue, but it kinda bugs me since there are lots of
songs im not scrobbling, even though im listening to'em lol
i even tried installing the japanese version of mobbler, but i dont think
its compatible; when i try installing it, it says there's a 'certificate
error'.

well, that's it. thanks for your time.
i'd appreciate if you could take this suggestion and make those characters
available on mobbler. if so, it'd be 100% perfect for me and my E63.

This is the best place to report stuff like this.

I just tested this (on a Nokia N95 8GB) and it worked ok.

I edited an mp3 file with MP3 Book Helper and changed the artist and title to
ones
from your Last.fm profile: 坂本真綾 - 夜明けのオクターブ.

The names showed up as boxes in the Nokia music player (there's nothing we can
do
about that if the phone doesn't have the required font/support), and it also
showed
up in the same way in Mobbler too.

So the problem is more likely you've not tagged the files properly.

Please can you check your tags?

hello, hugovk.
thanks for the reply!

actually, i found the problem to this issue this morning.. lol
while a friend of mine taught me a way to 'bypass' that certificate thing.

my tags are correct. i'm certain of it. im kinda a correct-tag-addict, believe
me lol
besides, these songs were taken from my media player, which means they have the
exact
same tags as the songs i listen to in my computer
the problem was that mobbler didnt say i was listening to something. it was as
if
there was nothing being played on the music player.

i had to install the 'addon' for japanese support for mobbler so that it became
a
japanese app, and then it started reading japanese \o/
the thing is i couldnt install it, as i said. but theres an option under app
manager:
you can choose whether you want or not to check if the apps have certificate of
use
(i have no idea what this certificate is, anyway)

so yea, i guess it's settled :D

(:
but thanks anyway for the help :D

cya!
