Slash in artist name causes scrobbling to stop and not continue until mobbler is restarted

1. What steps will reproduce the problem?

Play a song by an artist where there is a slash / in the artist name e.g. 
artist name = "Damian Marley / Nas"

What is the expected output? 

The song gets scrobbled after listening through halfway of the song. 

What do you see instead?

On mobbler UI the song progress bar goes to the very end of the song and while 
the music player moves to the next song (either with or without slash in the 
artist name), mobbler UI is not refreshed with the new song and the song that 
was just played does not get scrobbled. Mobbler needs to be restarted to 
scrobble again. 

If applicable, does the problem occur over both wifi and packet data, or
just one?

Does not change the behaviour.

Apparently a circumvention exists by replacing the slash character with another 
character such as &

Does this still happen?

I can't reproduce it with a Nokia N8 and the latest dev version.
