No sound from Minion #63

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 9 years ago

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Open the player
2.
3.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
I expect to hear something, but have silence only.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
version 1.4.4 on Win XP SP3

Please provide any additional information below.
I have a playlist, album art, a moving progress bar showing the playing
song - everything but sound. I know there is output because using the http
or shout output works. Is there a specific output that I must enable for
Minion to work?

Is the volume turned up? If it is, and Minion is howing that the song is
playing,
then it must be an issue with your MPD installation. I'd recommend tring
another
client and seeing what happens.

I would check your mpd.conf file on the server and make sure that there is an
output
setup for something like alsa, oss, pulse audio, etc. Also check the
connections to
the speakers/stereo.

After doing more research, I believe I have misinterpreted what kind of client
Minion
is. I had assumed that there would be audio output on the remote workstation
via
Minion. It now appears to me that Minion is a front end only, controlling the
remote
mpd daemon and will not provide http output similar to VLC or the browser
itself.
Sorry for the noise.

Common mistake. Ampache or Subsonic will stream the music to the client.
