Any chance for a small flag function in settings that will rtrim the document
when the user saves?

From the homepage:

If you find any bugs or have any suggestions for the implemented lexers (and
not only) feel free to provide patches.

Here you go. Tested and working, attempt 2 (small code styling fix).

Thanks for the patch.
I see the reason behind this option, but I'm not sure I like having yet another
option.
I will think about it, although I have to say I hate having trailing spaces in
my docs.

After searching the source code, I found that there is already an option for
the thing you need.
File-->Line Endings-->Default-->Strip trailing blanks when saving.

Ah, that figures why I couldn't find anything (didn't expect it to be buried
there).

Thanks!
