“Open with…” context menu #62

Can you please add an option to the installer to add an “Open with…” item
to the Explorer context menu?

I mean not only for text files, but for any file.

Thanks in advance.

It's already added in the Open with menu.

If this is not what you mean then explain what exactly you need and how to do
it. The current solution works fine and it's enough for me.

Well, yeah, I see it's been implemented... I'm not good in programming. So
maybe I just can't understand the code. I'll try to explain what I expect.

1st of all, I've just install the latest Notepad2-mod.4.2.25.685.

What I want is that I can right-click on any file (e.g. on pagefile.sys) in
Explorer and there would be a menu item "Open with Notepad", which I currently
can find only for text file.

I couldn't find it, but maybe I should do it manually (in Notepad2 preferences)?

There is no preference for this. Also I find wrong what you want to do. I won't
add such thing, sorry.

OK. Thanks for explanations.

Just to be clear. Of course it's not for pagefile.sys or any similar file. I
have to work with plain text data files which I can't always name
"<filename>.txt". So I have various *.txt, *.dat, *.ini, *.hdr, *.plt files,
and it would be much easier to have them already "associated" with Notepad2.

Thank you again!

You can do this from the explorer anyway. If it was implemented in Notepad2 I'd
be more than happy to include such functionality. But I don't want to mess with
the registry via the installer.
