I did a fresh new install and still the same.
****** HERE IS THE SOLUTION ******
I am in Canada and use UMTS (BELL/TELUS) when I go to add New APN, MCC MNC were
filled in already but MNC=61 when it should be MNC=610 (BELL), If I correct
them it will not save, but If you don't touch it and leave it as it is I will
work just fine and your 3G will work too.
***********************************
On my phone in UMTS it is not able to detect my Phone number when I go to about
phone menu ? may there is some thing to do with that !

I got the same problem when try to configure the APN, the save do nothing.
The only way to make it works is with an program that configure automaticaly
the APN.
http://showmetech.com.br/?p=5483. But this program its only for Brazilian
networks.

Hi guys, I had the same problem. I think all the 3G/APN problems are related.
For me our new froyo build solved our problems, so hang in tight!

I am having the same problem. It fails to save the APN after filling in the
necessary APN fields to enable MMS sending.
Funny though yesterday, when I tried entering an APN to enable mobile data,
same thing happend; the APN was not saved and was not showed in the list, but
there was a throughput of data on the phone. As the OS accepted the settings,
but did not show anywhere there it saved them.
I am running rooted Android Gingerbread 2.3.3 (with CM7) with custom kernel on
T-Mobile US HTC HD2.
