Music playback is not proper #100

Open GoogleCodeExporter opened 9 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 9 years ago
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1.Go to Music
2.Play a song

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Playback pereodically lags for a second during a song. And if you go to for
example 0:49 it repeats the sound that is at 0:49, then goes on. It is working
in GB 2.3.3. It's probably related to this lib drivers

What version of the product are you using?
Gingerbread 2.3.4 with the latest updates

Do you have logcat or dmesg ?
 (adb logcat -d > logcat.txt, adb shell dmesg > dmesg.txt)
Is not needed, i guess. Just look at playback on your phone, you'll see it.

Please check your minimum CPU freq.
you have to set minimum CPU freq as 256MHz.

I set min to 256, but the problem persists. Max is at 691 (ondemand).
I also tried to reflash but without any success.
Then I installed the following apps:
1. MIUI music app (stock app, i guess it uses hardware codecs) - the same
problem of periodically lagging for a second, but the problem of repeating the
sound when going to a point was Not persistent.
2. PowerAMP ( it probably uses software codecs) - no problems at all.
Any ideas???

i experience similar issues. the music lags once in a while.
i tried cpu master, set minimum speed to 256MHz,
but the phone became less stable, reboots and lockups.
i uninstalled it and it's much better again..

i tried another player , but with same behavior !!!
some mp3 files lages after 1 min for about 1 sec, others after 4 min's for
about 4 sec's !!
maybe it's related to built-in codecs .
