Bluetooth problem with handfree #118

Open GoogleCodeExporter opened 9 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 9 years ago
I also flashed the latest version (2.34), and the bluetooth can not connect to
my handsfree kit in the car, I detects the kit but when I want to connect the
phone does not demand code to validate the connection.

I said that with version 2.2 Froyo official, everything worked with the same
hands-free kit. With 2.33 I could log in but I had no sound. I also said that
if I connect to a computer by Bluetooth, the small window asking for the code
appears on the phone, it is only with the hands free kit that does not work,
the protocol may be different.

I also have bluetooth problems with the 2.3.4. My phone will connect to the
bluetooth headset, but sound is inaudible. I can hear the person on the other
end, but their voice is very garbled.

My current is system-gb-20110514a-snapshot.zip. This problem was in the previous system images as well. I don't know my original baseband, but it is v10c right now.

I installed openEVE this afternoon for the first time.
And, wow! I'm sincerely surprised it works incredibly well!

I knew it was good, but I didn't expect such difference from openEtna 6.1-RC5
(the fastest ROM until the current openEVE). Really good work, wkp...

Anyway, now that I'm an openEVE user, I will try (tomorrow) to take a look to
BT handsfree with nohands.sf.net, just out of curiosity.

This is not a blue tooth issue but I don't know where to post it. Openetna

I got HFP for Linux (http://nohands.sf.net) to compile in my PC.

I've made some tests with openEVE and with an old Sony Ericsson C702, but
neither of them worked correctly.

As of now, I got openEVE to pair with the computer and got distorted sound on
the computer while the phone was dialing, but when the other party picked up
the phone, the sound got redirected to the phone speaker and HFP returned an
error.

I will follow on testing with other different brands of phones. If I can
confirm it works with some of them, I will attach a log from both openEVE and
HFP.

You might want to try testing with the Official Korean version of Android 2.2
on the GW620 since I have a found it pairs and connects perfectly with my
Motorola T505 handsfree. When using it with Vlingo I have no problem with the
sound going through the T505 and there is no static. However using Google Voice
the sound goes to the T505 but impossible to understand. With all versions of
openetna, and openeve the phone directs the sound to phone speaker, not the
bluetooth device as soon as the call connects, or occasionally goes to the T505
but with lots of static and impossible to understand. I have been using the
GW620 handsfree by plugging the headphones into the aux jack in my car. Then I
can hear the caller.

That's exactly what happened to my when doing the tests. If I had a spare
GW620, I would try with another firmware as you said, but I don't have it, and
I don't feel like installing a new firmware to test it, as it takes a lot of
time to restore it.

Anyway, as I said before, I will test with other phones I have at home.

Sound works fine with the handsfree kit with the official firmware from version
Froyo 2.2, it is since moving to version 2.3 that it no longer works.

In fact, and if I'm not mistaken, it has never worked in any unofficial ROM
(neither openETNA nor openEVE).

I tried my phone with a friend's Vieta bluetooth car audio player.

My phone paired without problems (didn't ask for a pairing code) and I could
send and play some songs to the car-audio player without problems.

Unfortunately, I had no time to make a call through the system.

I will try to test it another day.

We haven't had a problem connecting or pairing with a bluetooth device. There
are two types of connections:1)Phone audio, and 2) Media Audio. Media audio
works fine, however when a phone call is made, as soon as the other party picks
up, the phone ports to the phone speaker rather than the bluetooth device. This
has been the ongoing problem, so I will be surprised if you will have any
success making a call through your friend's system.

Ok, thanks for the clarification.

The fact is that I was thinking on buying a handsfree kit for my car, and
that's the reason I was making some tests.

But I supposed it wouldn't work for doing calls, as you confirmed.

Yes, bluetooth handfree voice did not work. I installed the 2.3.4 ROM and
tested with bluetooth voice function. I was able to 'pair' and 'connect' my
phone to my bluetooth handfree device. But when I receive and make calls using
bluetooth, there were only noise. I could roughly hear the caller was talking,
but could not understand a word. It adds danger if you use it on the road. At
the end, I return to 2.2 Froyo, the same gadgets works beautifully. I'm not
promoting 2.2, but for safety reason when driving, 2.3.4 is not ready.

I think it is a simple audio routing problem.
Since GB BETA. more debugging options are activated. Please someone upload his
logcat here.

Just to re-iterate, this is the same issue as Issue #38.

The BT media sound (i.e. music/mp3) works just fine using my Bluetooth Jabra
handsfree. If I long press the paired BT device and select Options, I can
select/unselect the different Profiles i.e. Phone and Media, but doing so
doesn't enable any sound to be routed to the BT Jabra for a phone call. It's
muted and/or garbled.

I've tried external software like Car Home or Car Home Ultra, but nothing
allows phone calls to be routed to the BT device. I've tried the DSPManager to
enable boost/equalizer to the sound, but to no avail. The audio for phone
calls is not routed, whereas the audio for Media/Music is. There must be a
difference between the two (settings/code) that doesn't allow phone to BT to
come through or as some have suggested, is a sound priority conflict.

In desperation, I flashed the the official Froyo 2.2 (as modified by N2k1 of
the OpenEtna forums) and was successful in getting phone calls to BT. However,
I like this GB better as it allows me native Portable WiFi hotspot! (Thanks
wkpark!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)

By the way, could you post a direct link to the libaudio code base, as I
couldn't find it?

against CM7 src.
